Maria Petrides (b.UK) is an independent writer, editor & translator based in Greece and Cyprus. She writes across forms, short fiction, poetry, arts writing, experimental writing. She is an advocate of LGBTQIA+ rights. She has been published in journals/anthologies & art publications, and has participated as writer-in-residency in NYC, Nicosia, Istanbul, Helsinki, Rio de Janeiro, and Geneva. She is contributing author to the book collection, A Book of Small Things and co-editor of Literary Agency Cyprus anthology, Nicosia beyond barriers – voices from a divided city (Saqi Books, 2019). She co-founded artist/research group, pick nick, in 2012. And since 2015 she is member of the advisory committee for the acquisition of art at the State Gallery of Contemporary Art, Cyprus.
